Just had one of my dads coworkers over me his 85 shelby camaro for free because it has no third gear and he just wants someone who will give some love to the car now im trying to find out everything about this car im actually really excited to own a fwd for once 😂😂

Most overlooked fix for 3rd gear grind: adjust clutch pedal all the way forward. As the clutch wears down, you eventually wont be able to fully disengage the transmission from the engine causing grind.

It's crazy to think these still-running beetles from 60 years ago are worth so much. I bought my first bug in the mid-1960s, 13 years old, for $275. I still miss it. Oh and the 'Idiot' book: indispensable!

It’s not an LS you do not have to pull the head to get to your lifters just pop your intake off. You will see all of your lifters as long as you did not wipe a lobe off of your cam you should be able to pull that lifter out

Wrong...... the Shelby Charger 1987 also came in Maroon/Silver. I had 1 black, and 2 Maroon/Silvers in my life.

I thought these were available starting as 1985 models? They came in a medium Shelby™ blue metallic with silver racing stripes. Perhaps the following year, they came in white with Shelby™ blue racing stripes.

Expensive? 😂😂😂😂 they were so popular and so easy and cheap to repair and/or maintain that even at a drugstore, you could find spare parts. I'm talking about having a beetle or vocho here in Mexico some years ago. How I miss them 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

80s MOPAR was actually pretty cool. It wasn't a great decade for performace, but that went to all makes. Chrysler managed to insert some of the muscle car attitude into their little FWD boxes. Torque steer out the wazoo, and lots of dubious fit and finish, but attitude...they did have that attitude and were pretty fun to drive.

I had a 69 bug in high school. I'm 48 and bought a baja 4 years ago and built a 2110cc for it. I just recently bought another 69 bug.and am building a 1904cc motor for it. I forgot how much fun these cars are. I will always have an old aircooled vw from now on.

2:01 they try saying the same about the corvairs but they don't actually leak once you replace the seals and the block split doesn't leak when properly assembled either. You could lose an entire bank of cylinders and the engine will still run until it loses too much oil.

I have eleven classic cars. Three 57 Chevys a 55 Chevy a 66 Chevy C10 a 47 Ford a 41 Mercury 2 Model A fords and a Citroen 2cv. So what do I drive every day? Car number 11 is a 73 VW beetle. Three thousand dollars ten years ago good on gas and with a stock 1600 cc dual port engine it's fast enough. And by the way I never saw one leak oil between the case halves. The valve covers pushrod tubes and the oil strainer gasket have been known to leak. A little or a lot. Love my bug it's the best.

They are great cars but for the love of God, DO NOT SPEND A DIME on a post-1967 Volkswagen. Any Volkswagen, not just a Bug. Just pretend the company went out of business at the end of the 1967 production year.

Slow? Yup. Expensive? NO. reliable? Somewhat.

Bought my first beetle in 2016 at 15 years old, have a differnet daily driver now, but my beetle is my only car ive never sold. Love the thing. Has a crappy autostick but still love my little 73 super. Waiting to have my own little garage to fully restore it
